This pattern I originally worked up with double-stranded fingering weight yarn. However, any weight yarn should work.

This pattern is considered intermediate, due to construction technique and instructions. It is worked from the head down, with the trunk being completed later.

Materials needed include:

  • 9mm safety eyes (or you can choose to embroider them on, which is usually recommended for very small children/infants)
  • Aran weight yarn, or yarn of your choice
  • Poly fiberfil stuffing, or stuffing of your choice
  • Yarn needle
  • hook size E, or hook for your specific yarn choice. This needs to be crocheted tightly, so the stuffing doesn’t show through.

This pattern is written in US terms.
This is also written in the style of amigurumi, where the body is worked in one continual piece.

Available on the BlogSpot, but the pdf version is designed with being printer-friendly in mind. http://cantoocrochet.blogspot.com/2015/01/little-elephant...
