Luella is a gorgeous dress knit in the round from the top down, with a gorgeous lace yoke and hem, the dress is so easy and flattering to wear and can be easily dressed up or down.

• The pattern comes with instructions to knit this dress with cap sleeves (pictured), 3/4 length sleeves and long sleeves giving you plenty of options no matter what your climate or occasion.

• The large Stocking Stitch content of this dress means it knits up relatively quickly (not to mention makes great TV knitting!), but the lace yoke and hem also keep it interesting to knit and stunning to look at.

• Gauge in St St is 28 Sts and 36 rows (3.25mm needles), the gauge for the lace sections is 24 Sts and 32 rows (3.25mm needles).

• Fingering/light fingering or a thick laceweight yarn is recommended for this project. You want something light enough so that the skirt (which is quite full) drapes nicely and is not too heavy, but you don’t want your St St section to be see-through (unless of course you intend to wear a slip). Please be aware that knitting the dress in a heavier yarn (cotton blends for example) may make the skirt heavy which will make it stretch in length.

• The lace yoke and hem patterns are in charted form only.

• The pattern comes in 7 sizes to fit from 32” to 44” chest. The dress is designed to be worn with 2” of negative ease so the bodice is fitted but the skirt flares out dramatically from the waist making it very comfortable and flattering to wear.
