These great fitting and easy mittens are  knitted flat without a ribber and then  seamed. The pattern is suitable for all  skill levels.
YARN AND GAUGE:  Use one of the many self-patterning  sock yarns to that are now available. Standard and mid-gauge machines can knit most of  these to about 7 stitches/10 rows per inch using 5-7 on the dial for standard and 3-4  for mid-gauge machines. Bulky machines, choose a light worsted yarn that will get 5  stitches and 7.5 rows per inch at about stitch size 4. The bulky numbers are in brackets  like these . Tamm Nordic is the right weight. The mittens shown were knitted using  bernat “Sox”.
SIZES:  Smaller size is listed first and will fit most youths and smaller adult hands. Larger size  in parentheses will fit most larger adult hands. The length from the finger tips to the  beginning of the wrist-band is about 6.5” for the smaller size and 7.5 for the larger.  Circumference is about 7” for the small size and 8’ for the large size
