Magrathea is a long and narrow, slightly asymmetrical triangular shawlette that features a squishy garter stitch body and a geometrical lace motif at the edges - just right for spring and early summer!
In Douglas Adam‘s book „The Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy“, Magrathea is the planet where luxury custom-made planets are built to order. Its planet-building experts are especially famous for designing pretty coastlines – as the lace edging of this little shawlette. It is my third design (after „Hitchhiker“ and „Trillian“) that uses a special asymmetrical triangular construction.
Pattern notes: You start at one corner of the triangle, add wider and wider rows and cast off at one of the short sides.The lace edging on one side is worked as you go, the other is formed by the last 30 rows before binding off. 100 g of fingering weight yarn is plenty to make a useful shawlette. Instructions are provided on how to make it larger.

Magrathea heißt dieses leicht asymmetrische, längliche Dreieckstuch mit wärmender Mitte in kraus-rechts und geometrischer Spitzenkante. Aufgrund seiner besonderen Form lässt es sich gut um den Hals wickeln. Genau richtig für Frühling und Frühsommer!
In Douglas Adams‘ Buch „Per Anhalter durch die Galaxis“ ist Magrathea der Planet, dessen Bewohner maßgefertigte Luxusplaneten auf Bestellung bauen. Sie sind besonders geschickt darin, schöne Küstenlinien zu entwerfen – und daran erinnert die Kante dieses Tuchs. Es ist mein dritter Entwurf (nach „Hitchhiker“ und „Trillian“), der diese besondere asymmetrische Konstruktion verwendet.
Anmerkungen: Man beginnt an einer Ecke des Tuchs und fügt immer breitere Reihen hinzu, so dass ein längliches Dreieck entsteht. Die Spitzenkante der einen kurzen Dreiecksseite entsteht während des strickens, an der anderen Dreiecksseite bildet die Spitze die Abschlusskante. 100 g schöne Sockenwolle sind genug, um ein Tuch von brauchbarer Größe zu bekommen, man es aber auch größer stricken. Nur Strickschrift, keine „ausgeschriebene“ Anleitung der Spitzenteile.

“Магратеа” - слегка асимметричная, удлинённая шаль с тёплой центральной частью платочной вязкой, окружённой геометрической ажурной каймой.
Магратеа - легендарная планета, которую ищут герои в научно-фантастическом романе Дугласа Адамса “Автостопом по галактике”.
Вязание шали начинается с одного уголка и постепенно расширяется, пока не получится вытянутый треугольник. Ажурная кайма по одной из коротких сторон треугольника образуется в процессе вязания, и в конце шали последние ряды перед закрытием петель образуют другую кайму.

Уровень сложности: средний
Необходимые умения и навыки: набирать петли, вязать лицевые и изнаночные петли, из одной петли вывязывать две, убавки, накиды, читать схемы, закрывать петли, использовать эластичное закрытие петель методом “Удивительно эластичный способ Джени для закрытия петель”.

Dans le livre de Douglas Adams ”Le guide du voyageur galactique”, Magrathea est la planète sur laquelle sont construites des planètes sur mesure. Ses experts sont en particulier réputés pour leur conception de jolis bords de mer – tout comme la bordure de ce petit châle. C’est ma troisième création (après ”Hitchhiker” et ”Trillian”) qui utilise cette construction triangulaire asymétrique particulière.

Pattern notes
Note : Vous commencez par un coin du triangle, ajoutez des rangs de plus en plus longs, et finissez par un des petits côtés. La bordure en dentelle sur un des côtés est faite au fur et à mesure, celle sur l’autre côté est formée par les 30 derniers rangs avant le rang de rabattage. 100 g de laine type laine à chaussettes (ou fingering) sont suffisants pour faire un châle de taille intéressante. Le patron explique comment faire pour avoir un châle plus grand.
