Make your own rainbow
I think this pattern is suitable for beginner brioche knitter (you have to have some knitting skills).
At first I started this shawl “to spend my yarn remains”. I have these in every corner in my home:)
Pattern contains shawl and hat pattern.
Brioche knitting is a simple multicolor technique where you can mix your favourite colors and yarns – to be unique and playful!
Two-color brioche is reversible and results in like two different shawls - You can wear both sides.
All my own hand dyed yarn (curcum, red gabbage, madder, indigo, aronia, forest green, kool-aid, cochineal)
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 64” (164cm) x 32” (81cm) after blocking.
If you do less pattern parts - you can vary the size of shawl (I mean doing 7 or 6 sections). Specifically this shawl has 8 sections.
YARN: Debbie Bliss Rialto DK 100% merino (my own hand dyed yarn), or ohter the same gauge yarn. 115 yards (105 meters) - 50gr/1.76 ounces
I used 13 different colors. It’s a good project to “demolish your yarn remains.”:)))
GAUGE: 22.0 sts = 4 inches
YARDAGE: - about 972m/1064 yards.
Shawl is pretty heavy - 442gr/15.56 oz.
Feel free to choose a little bit lighter and thinner yarn.
NEEDLES: 32“(80cm) circular needle in US 4/ 3.5mm.
My recommendation is: to use needles 2,5mm with ribbing part.
OTHER TOOLS: Tapestry needle (to weave in ends), stitch/place marker (if you need).
Abbreviations: brk, brkyobrk, brp, p, k, sl1yo.
Pattern have tested.
