This is a pattern for a true alpine cabled Shawl (as opposed to Aran cabling, which is the more familiar way of cabling). The knit stitches are knit primarily through the back loop, and although the scarf is not reversible, it is cabled on both sides.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a working knowledge of knitting, purling and a very good knowledge of cabling)

The pattern is Charted ONLY.

This pattern was professionally tested by Lori Veteto who can be contacted at: hooknneedler@cimtel.net

The yarn used in the sample is Handmaiden/Fleece Artist’s BFL DK yarn, and requires approximately 1250 yards. (Note: You can use either Fleece Artists BFL DK or Chinook)

The pattern is for sale right here on Ravelry or in my Etsy Shop in the Int - Advanced Shawl Section (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WearableArtEmporium?section_id=…)
