Inspired by the beautiful maple tree leaves so prevalent in the fall, this shawl will be a stunning addition to your autumn wardrobe.

It can be made in light/medium fingering weight yarn, but those with a high wool content will be best since it needs to be blocked aggressively. Lace yarn can be used depending on whether you like the shawl be VERY light, as the gauge is 16 st per 10 cm/4 in, and the shawl will be more an eye catcher than a warming accessory then. You could also use sport yarn to make a wrap or a baby blanket.

The pattern is suitable for intermediate and advanced knitters. The stitches themselves are not hard, just the regular ones:

k, p, k2tog, ssk,yo and occasionally a psso.

Every 2nd row is all purls, every 3rd row is intuitive. However the pattern implies counting stitches and following written instructions for at least part of it, so it might be tricky for a beginner.

The central part is worked first as one piece starting from the stem with constantly increasing rows, and then the corners are finished one by one.

The pattern is written out row by row, 18 pages in total, and a 9-page version for economical printing is included. The corners are charted and the charts are included into a separate file (5 pages long).

The instructions are in English only.
