Matariki is the Maori name for the constellation Pleiades, and the name given to the Maori New Year which begins at mid winter when Matariki appears in the southern skies. My Matariki is my take on a traditional fair isle pattern and old fashioned sweater style, knit top down and seamless in 8ply/DK wool.

Available in sizes 18 month to 10 years, Matariki is a unisex pullover that can be knit in most double knit wools. Have fun choosing colours for the stars - a variagated yarn looks stunning! Pattern includes notes for beginners on working stranded colourwork.

Thank you so much to everyone who bought this pattern during March and April, all the proceeds from that period have been donated to the NZ Red Cross: 50% to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal and 50% to the General Fund to help people in strife around the world.
