This hat was part of the 2015 Augustbird Tea Club and features Bowerbird (White Gum Wool 8ply).

In the spring, the forests around the Midwest are filled with green foliage and signs of new life. As a little girl, no flower captured my imagination more than the abundant Mayapple.

The Mayapples’ tall leafy canopies stretch open like outdoor umbrellas, each with its own little “lantern” hidden beneath.

Scattered across the forest floor, a person could be almost certain that fairies and forest folk hold magical midnight soirees under the shelter of these flowers, while the rest of us sleep peacefully in our beds.
