Make your own Messy Bun Beanie! This beanie style is one of the hottest trends this winter and for good reason! Athletes, dancers, and active moms will all love this cozy beanie on a cold winter day when they want to wear their hair in a ponytail or bun. The hat is designed to completely cover the ears and forehead for maximum warmth! This pattern is crocheted but has a gorgeous “knit look” to it and works up quick!

The pattern is sized for a standard adult and will fit a head circumference of 21-23 inches. However, there are instructions in the pattern for you to adapt the hat to other sizes for a perfect custom fit.

This pattern is appropriate for a beginner crocheter. It utilizes single crochet, half double crochet stitches, and slip stitches and is worked flat. You will not need to know how to work in the round, but you will need to seam the final piece. There are photos to help you along the way.

Materials:
Hook: 5 mm (or hook needed to obtain gauge)
Yarn: Approximately 127 yards of any medium weight (4) worsted such as Caron Simply Soft
Darning needle

This pattern is written is standard US terms.
