This is a vintage pattern and the ‘sport yarn’ of yesteryear may have been a finer weight then today’s sport weight. It is strongly suggested that you use a lighter weight yarn for this pattern so that the shawl does not turn out overly large.

Note - The yarn that was used to join the lace strips was a lace weight. A lighter weight then the yarn used to make the lace strips. A smaller hook is also suggested for joining the strips. The lighter weight yarn and smaller hook used in joining the strips are what bring the strips down into a wearable size shawl.

This pattern should be rated intermediate to advanced.
