Military Jacket
This military jacket has a vintage feel with modern details, like the curved hemline. Knitted in one piece from the bottom up, there are flattering central shaping lines that lead up to two box pleats at the waist.
The sleeves are worked separately, beginning with a turned-back cuff, and then they are joined with the body. The yoke is worked with full-fashioned raglan shaping. Lastly, the large button placket and collar are picked up and worked simultaneously for minimal finishing
Notes:
The body of the Military Jacket is worked as one piece in rows, starting at the bottom. Short rows are used to make the curved edge of the bottom hem. Sleeves are knitted in the round separately and then joined with the body to complete the yoke. Finally, the button placket and collar is picked up and worked in rows.
This is an intermediate pattern. You need to be able to visually “read your work” during the main body portion of the pattern when increasing and decreasing.
