About the Pattern:
This top-down raglan was inspired by the mudcloth fabric that was created by the Malian people of Africa. The fabric was thought to have protective properties based on the symbols used. Mudcloth is often found in black with white accents, which are created by a special fermented mud, but it can also look good in several other neutral colors. The all-over colorwork portrays some of the motifs that can be found in traditional mudcloth. Use #modernmudcloth to show off your work!

US size 5 (3.75mm) 16” (40mm) circular needle
US size 5 (3.75mm) DPNs or
US size 5 (3.75mm) 24”+ (40mm+) circular for magic loop
US size 4 (3.5mm) DPNs or
US size 4 (3.5mm) 24”+ (40mm+) circular for collars and cuffs
Or needle size needed to achieve gauge

Gauge:
24 sts x 26 rounds in colorwork pattern in the round = 4” x 4” (10.16cmx10.16cm) with US 5 (3.75mm)
