moondance felted cap
This pattern is for a felted peaked cap in fabulous undyed Moondance wools Shetland yarn. It’s knitted in one piece in the round and then felted. If you haven’t felted before you will need to refer to my separate felting notes and calculations so that you get it right first time. The peak is of a special construction which doesn’t require any stiffener so you can fold it and put it in your bag or pocket without spoiling the shape. I’ve just added a photo tutorial showing in detail the peak construction.
You will need around 120 grams or so of yarn and I’ve used all six colours available from www.Moondancewools.com ranging from deep dark chocolaty brown to a white-cream. You can buy a kit from Moondance with all the colours in it. The yarn is supersoft and is of a really fine quality and felts superbly. Visit Margie at Moondance to see all the other wonderful stuff she sells.
