Circular knitting needle size 9 (5.5 mm), 36 in. (91.5 cm) long
Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.

Puffy fabric paint

Special stitch: Make 1 Loop

Work in pattern until piece measures about 17 1/2 in. (44.5 cm) from beginning. Bind off.

Apply puffy fabric paint to wrong side of mat in lines, large dots, or similar design, to help keep mat from slipping.
