This pattern is based on a cushion that appeared in an episode of ‘Bones’, which reminded me immediately of bones! Therefore Mosaic Mystery was created

  • This pattern uses the two row, inset mosaic crochet method.
  • The yarn is carried up the side of the blanket, so there are very few ends to sew in!
  • It’s a full written pattern, using US crochet terms.
  • There is a mosaic chart included (with X’s marked).
  • Yarn - use 1 cake of 1000m (ie a Scheepjes Whirl, Hobbii Twister, YarnArt Flowers, Sultan Deluxe or similar), and between 300 and 400g of a solid, contrasting colour (ie Scheepjes Whirlettes, Hobbii Twister Solid).
  • If you do not want to add a border, 300g of the contrasting colour is plenty.
  • The pattern can be used with any weight yarn, and the size is easily adjustable. Repeat numbers are given.
  • The final size of my blanket is approximately 75 cm x 110 cm (approx 30” x 43”).
  • Any hook size can be used, choose one that gives your work the feel and drape that you are happy with.
  • The gauge is not important for this project, it will however affect the final size and dimensions of your blanket.
  • The blanket can be made reversible (with the same pattern on both sides), or single-sided (with the pattern on one side, and a wavy stripes pattern on the back. Both options are included.

Have fun!
