Mountain Beanie
This tapestry crochet hat was made for my brother in a mountain pattern. It’s a thick and sturdy hat. Thought I’d share!
Fair Warning: It’s definitely a men’s hat, size Pretty Darn Large - my brother’s head is big. This hat comes down over my eyes.
The pattern is simply a chart. Extra details are available in the blog post with pictures. The chart is available in Excel and PDF. I provided the Excel version in case someone wants to reduce it from 72 stitches around to a smaller size.
For the thickness/gauge: Entire hat should be crocheted carrying an extra strand - for the red section, just carry an additional red strand along, this will keep the top section at a similar thickness to the mountain section.
Recommended to crochet tightly so that underlying colors do not come through.
My brother requested (and I provided) a band of fleece around the bottom to prevent chafing on his forehead and ears.
