I got a request for a mountain bike beanie with much green in it (as these are the team colors).
So there you are. I had much fun drafting and knitting these guys :)

It is completely knitted in 4-ply sock yarn. You can also use Acrylic or other yarn of similar weight or a little bit thicker.

It has a two-color (= corrugated) ribbing in dark green and grass green, followed by a fence border pattern ( = peerie pattern) reminding of the ride in the countryside.
Then come 8 mountain bikers.
In the background you can see the forest.
At the top is a No. 1 T-shirt peerie pattern, followed by another fence and a skid mark peerie.

For bigger sizes go up one or two needle sizes (3.25mm - 3.5. mm) and/or use 5-ply yarn or both.

Certainly you can use any colors you like or leftover yarns you can spare or you have in your stash.
You don’t need much of each color.

You need 4-ply sock yarn or Acrylic yarn of similar weight:
about 30 g in dark green, about 25 g in grass green, about 20 g in off-white or white, 10 g in dark
red brown, 20 g in black.

I was told that even guys like this beanie :)

Note: for Tour de France fans or race cyclists there is also a cycle race beanie pattern available.
And for all motor bikers the biker beanie will fit just great. :)

Ich habe eine Anfrage für eine Mountain Biker Mütze bekommen. Und das ist dabei herausgekommen. :)

Sie sollte überwiegend grün sein, weil das die Teamfarben sind.
Auch diesmal ist sie wieder aus 4-fach Sockenwollresten entstanden.
Man kann aber auch Acrylgarn oder anderes Garn ähnlicher oder etwas dickerer Stärke verwenden.
Für größere Köpfe verwendet Ihr am besten eine größere Nadel (3.25 mm - 3.5 mm) und/oder etwas dickeres Garn (5-fach, z.B. Buttinette Madeleine)

Sie hat einen zweifarbigen Bund, gefolgt von einer Zaunbordüre und 8 Mountain Bikern. Im Hintergrund sieht man den Wald. Obendrauf findet man eine Nummer 1 - T-Shirt Bordüre, gefolgt von einer weiteren Zaunbordüre und einem Reifenmuster.

Man hat mir gesagt, dass die Mütze auch ganz gut bei Männern ankommt. :)

Für RadRennfahrer gibt es die cycle race beanie.

Und für Motorradfahrer die Biker beanie.
