Cute slant-front hooded vest with flattering back ties and shaped with pretty cable decreases.

Construction: Vest is knit flat from the bottom in one piece. Short rows shape shoulders, and shoulders are seamed using a 3-needle bind off. Cable decreases shape armholes and front edge.

Sizes of finished vest:
32 (35, 38, 41, 45) (49, 53, 58)“. Wear with recommended ease of 1-4”. Shown in size 35; worn with 1” ease on 34” dress form.

Yarn:
5 (6, 6, 7, 7) (8, 8, 9) skeins Sunday Knits 5 ply (light worsted weight - 137yds / 125 m per 50g skein) in Angelic (merino angora), Eden (merino), Nirvana (merino cashmere), or Brigadoon (merino tweeds & marls).

Substitute any light worsted, light aran or heavy dk weight yarn that works nicely to gauge: 650 (690, 750, 820, 890) (960, 1040, 1130) yds.

Needles & Notions:
Size 8 US (5 mm) needles (for gauge) plus a third needle for 3-needle bind-off, cable needle or double-pointed needle; size 6 US needles for back baffle and drawstrings, tapestry needle, markers, six 3⁄4” buttons.

Gauge:
18 sts and 24 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch.

Techniques used:
