Newborn Bunny Butt {diaper cover}
My 2-Button Diaper Cover is based on Cassi Ence’s diaper cover pattern but adjusted for the thicker fuzzy yarn. You can find her diaper cover in her Newsboy Set pattern here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/newsboy-set
These make great photo props and matches my Newborn Bunny Hat. Get the hat pattern here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/newborn-bunny-hat-2
I’ve used Red Heart Baby Clouds as well as Light & Lofty yarn to make these diaper covers.
Other things you’ll need:
A basic understanding of crochet--see abbreviations--and pattern reading skills.
A locking or open stitch marker for crochet.
2 buttons 3/4” size
Pompom maker or you can Google for instructions on how to make one
Scrap yarn in a similar color about 12” long to use for tying the pompom (I found that a not fuzzy, worsted weight yarn works best).
Abbreviations I use:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
sc2tog= single crochet 2 together
sl st = slip stitch
pm = place marker
Notes:
I haven’t measured to know how much yarn this pattern uses, but I know it’s much less than a skein. In fact, if you have made my newborn bunny hat, you should have more than enough leftover to make a matching diaper cover.
Gauge is also unknown, but since it’s such a small item, it shouldn’t be a huge problem. I suggest that if your finished cover is too small, try again using a larger hook. If it’s too large, try again with a smaller hook.
If you happen to find a mistake or have a question about this pattern, send me a Ravelry message and I’ll be sure to reply as soon as I can (note: I’m not on Ravelry every day, but I check in frequently). Thanks!
