Newt Scarfmander
If you saw Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, chances are you saw the honey-colored scarf cozily wrapped around Newt Scamander as he gave an emotional farewell to Tina at the end of the film. Even though we have two years to wait until the next Fantastic Beasts film, with this scarf you won’t have to wait to feel Newt’s warm presence.
This striped fringe scarf is perfect for any knitter, witch, wizard, muggle, squib, or no-maj, and making it is as simple as uttering expecto scarfum!
I used four double point needles to knit in the round. Both ends of the work are joined seamlessly by utilizing the figure 8 cast on and Kitchener bind off. The beauty of the design is that you do not need to weave in every end, as yarn strands can be tucked inside the scarf since it is essentially a long tube. (If you want to reach a new level of laziness like me you can incorporate the last yarn end from the Kitchener bind off into the fringe!)
Happy knitting!
