There’s really nothing better than a knitted vest to wear in autumn and spring when the weather is just cold enough for an extra layer, but too hot for sweaters. The Newtown Vest is perfect for wearing by itself or layered over a shirt, top or dress. The Houndstooth pattern adds a fun ‘60s vibe and provides a cosy fabric for extra warmth.

Pattern Notes
The Newtown Vest is knit from the top down, featuring an easy Houndstooth colourwork pattern that is initially worked flat to the underarms and then in the round for the body.

The design is intended to be worn with 0-2” (0-5 cm) positive ease around the bust. The vest has also been written to fall at a cropped length (sitting at high hip); however, you can easily add length by knitting more repeats of the houndstooth pattern.

The armhole shaping creates a fitted silhouette along the shoulders and upper body with plenty of room left around the arms for layering over shirts.

Sizes
