Nine Dwindling Cables
Note on the band chart
Please note that, since the band is worked back and forth, you have to read the chart back and forth too! Read odd rows from right to left and even rows from left to right.
If you’re getting weird holes or loops at the edge of your work and wondering how on earth you’re supposed to be slipping the first AND LAST stitches of your rows, you may be trying to read the chart as though it were for knitting in the round. It isn’t -- it goes back and forth, and it’s asking you to slip the first stitch of every row and knit the last stitch.
Typo alert! There is an error in the first version of the PDF pattern that was uploaded. The instructions for Round 29 should read:
Rd 29: p1, slip 5 onto cable needle behind work, k5; k2 i.e. NOT “k5”! k2tog k1 from cable needle; k5, p1 repeat to end of round.
A corrected version of the PDF was uploaded on 3 January 2011.
