HINTS FOR DECREASING OVER PATTERN STITCH
-
Place a marker 15 sts in from each edge. The sts between the markers will remain in pattern stitch with no decreases.
-
Work decreases at each side 1 st in from edge.
-
Work decreases on WS rows instead of RS rows.
-
When trying to decide where to start the pattern stitch, count back from the marker working from the end of the pattern row repeat.
-
Please see photos here for a chart that may make it easier to see the pattern.
