-Needles Size 8 (5 mm): 40” circular (cir) and set of double pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
-Notions Markers (m); tapestry needle.
-Gauge 21 sts and 28 rnds = 4” in stocking stitch; 17 sts and 40 rows = 4” in garter st.

Self-striping yarn creates intriguing effects in the motifs of the Ojo de Dios Shawl. The crescent-shaped wrap is built of modular triangles and garter stitch shaped with short-rows.

A note about the design: If you are planning on using any yarn other than Gina (which the pattern calls for) think very hard about this decision! The Gina yarn blocked superbly so that the bottom edges of the triangles did not curl/roll. Many yarns that have been substituted for this design will not lie flat, and thus an edging is necessary. If you must substitute, test your yarn first by making 1 triangle and blocking it. If the edges curl/roll, you won’t get the same effect.
