Old Man of Storr Shawlette
A versatile shawlette loaded with simple texture, perfect for that skein of sock yarn that you don’t want to hide in your shoes. Any sock yarn will do wonderfully; adjust your needle size to produce a more airy or dense fabric. Additionally, you can increase the garter stitch section or knit more edging repeats for a larger shawl. Wear it with the point in the back or, my personal favorite, wrapped around the neck, scarf-like, with the point in front.
Finished Size: 54” x 27.5”
Yarn: Dream in Color Knitosophy, 1 skein, or any fingering weight yarn, approx. 450 yards (sample used approx. 395 yds.)
Needles: US 5 (3.75 mm, UK 9)
Extras: Stitch markers, if necessary
Gauge: 20 sts and 18 garter ridges = 4 in. (in Garter Stitch)
