Opus 200
Short summer socks with lace pattern: a challenge for the experienced knitter. Includes two fully-written, separate, toe-up and top-down patterns.
Description from pattern:
“Short summer socks with four catherine wheel lace panels on the legs and and one long panel along the top of the instep. The cuffs are decorated with a ribbon border in contrast colour, and ribbon can be threaded around individual panels, leaving knotted ends dangling. This pattern is suitable for the experienced knitter. Women’s medium and large widths are changed by adjusting needle size. Foot and leg length are adjusted by knitting extra repeats of the lace stitch panel.”
The pattern includes a stitch-pattern chart for either toe-up or top-down version. The toe-up pattern gives instructions for two-at-a-time on two circular needles, and the top-down version requires 5 dpns.
A larger size can be made using 2.75-3mm needles, with a gauge of 28 sts per 4in over st st.
A big thank you to the five lovely ladies from Free Pattern Testers group who kindly tested this pattern for us. A fully updated pattern file has been sent to all purchasers.
