Pattern available in English and Italian.

Pas de chat: a ballet leap that starts from the fifth position. One foot is lifted and then the other, while in mid-air the feet are together and drawn up, the knees are bent en dehors; the dancer lands first on the foot that started the leap, following rapidly by the other, in the fifth position. During the leap, the dancer moves slightly sideways in the direction of the foot that started the leap.

“Pas de Chat Socks” is a pair of socks enlivened by a simple lace motif. The pattern can be adapted to a number of sizes, just be careful to follow the sequence of the lace motif.
However, to knit these socks you need to use the Magic Loop method or the method using two circular needles, because they cannot be worked using other methods.

Size:
To fit foot circumference up to 19.5 (21, 22.5) cm – 7 ¾ (8 ¼, 8 ¾) inches.
The photos refer to a size 40 / US size 7 foot with 2 cm – ¾ inch of negative ease.

Finished measurements:
Circumference: 17.5 (19, 20.5) cm – 7 (7 ½, 8) inches.
Leg length: 17 cm - 6 ¾ inches, adjustable.
Foot length: adjustable to fit.

Yarn and needles:
SCHACHENMAYR REGIA Sentimento (75% wool, 25% nylon: 421 m - 460 yards for 100 g - 3.53 oz. skein): 1 skein.
Circular needle (one if you are using the Magic Loop, two if you are using the two circular needle method):
size 2.5 mm – US 1 ½ with 80 cm – 32” cable.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Other:
Tapestry needle.

Gauge:
30 sts and 40 rounds = 10 cm – 4” in st st (worked in the round and after blocking).

Pas de chat: salto che parte dalla quinta posizione. Si stacca prima un piede poi l’altro, in aria i piedi sono uniti e le ginocchia piegate e en dehors; si arriva sul piede che si è staccato per primo da terra, e velocemente l’altro lo raggiunge in quinta posizione. Durante il salto si effettua un piccolo spostamento laterale, verso la gamba che per prima si alza.

“Pas de Chat Socks” è un paio di calzini ravvivati da un semplice motivo in pizzo. Lo schema è adattabile a molti numeri, sempre facendo attenzione a rispettare la sequenza del motivo in pizzo.
Per lavorarlo, però, è necessario conoscere il metodo del Magic Loop o dei due ferri circolari, perchè non si può lavorare in altro modo.

Taglie:
Per un piede dalla circonferenza massima di 19.5 (21, 22.5) cm.
Le foto si riferiscono ad un piede numero 40 con una circonferenza di 21 cm.

Misure finite:
Circonferenza: 17.5 (19, 20.5) cm.
Lunghezza della gamba: 17 cm, personalizzabile.
Lunghezza del piede: personalizzabile.

Filato ed aghi:
SCHACHENMAYR REGIA Sentimento (75% lana, 25% nylon: 421 m per gomitolo da 100 g): 1 gomitolo.
Aghi circolari (uno se usate il Magic Loop, due se usate il metodo dei due ferri circolari):
numero 2.5 mm con cavo lungo 80 cm.
Se necessario modificare il numero degli aghi per ottenere il campione corretto.
Altro:
Ago da tappezzeria.

Campione:
30 m e 40 f = 10 cm lavorati a maglia rasata (in tondo e bloccati).
