Peabey the Polar Bear
Peabey the Polar Bear is a realistic, soft stuffed toy suitable for all ages. Made in sport weight yarn (or worsted, for a slightly larger finished bear), Peabey is worked in the round from the rump forward on dpns, and can be finished in an evening or two--perfect for a last-minute winter gift and a great stash-buster, too! Use soft organic cotton for a baby gift, or angora for a fuzzy charmer that kids of all ages will love.
Pattern includes step-by-step instructions and plenty of pictures. Techniques used include knitting on stitches, grafting, increasing (kfb) and decreasing (ssk and ktog).
50% of the proceeds from sales of this pattern will be donated to Polar Bears International and the International Association for Bear Research, to support bear research and conservation worldwide. Please contact the designer if you work with a research or non-profit group with similar conservation interests and would like to receive a finished Peabey bear sample for use in fundraising (silent auctions, raffles, etc.)
Errata: In the first table, the instructions for row 3 should read “and following odd-numbered rows,” not “even-numbered rows.” (This error has been corrected as of version 082311_1.)
