As of January 2014 there was once again a call for these jumpers. Note that many of them will be used for educational purposes or sold to raise money for the cause, so donated sweaters won’t necessarily be used on the penguins themselves.

(If you are knitting this much after early 2014 it might be a good idea to check and see if they are still needed. Ten years ago, there was a similar oil spill in Australia, near Melbourne, and they put out a call for 100 sweaters: keen knitters sent them 15,000 in the end (FAQ)!)
