Perfect Pitch Scarf
If you would like to be the first to hear about new pattern releases, get special subscriber only discounts, and generally keep in touch with Knitwise Design, you may want to sign up for my newsletter: News and Notes from Knitwise Design.
This clever design allows you to fine- tune your scarf so it’s perfect every time! Each time you wear it you can change the look by adjusting the relative lengths of the loop and tail. So many different ways to wear this design! The knitting is easy, but keeps you interested with integrated i-cord edges that merge for a seamless and tidy point. Classy enough for the office or the symphony!
This design is suitable for knitters who can knit, purl, increase, decrease, and who are interested in learning some new techniques. Integrated i-cord, a provisional cast-on, and both garter stitch and stockinette stitch grafting are explained in the pattern. The pattern is four pages long and has been test knit and professionally tech edited to be clear and free of errors.
Sizes: One size, length easily adjustable.
Finished Measurements:The sample shown measures 5 in/ 12.5 cm wide by 45 in/ 114.5 cm long after blocking.
Gauge:(Gauge is not critical in this project, but a different gauge will give a different size scarf.)
Working gauge (before washing) = 18 sts and 30 rows/ 4in/ 10cm over scarf body stitch pattern with larger needles.
Final Gauge (after washing) = 21 sts and 26 rows/ 4 in/ 10cm. Note that, in this yarn, the scarf will shrink in width and grow in length approx. 10% with washing. To get a 45 in/ 114.5 cm scarf I knit 40 1/2 in/ 103 cm long.
