The charm of this minimalist top lies in the gathers at the neckline and the rows of eyelets created by yarn overs that adorn the armhole edges and hem. The thin knit fabric drapes beautifully. The pattern is worked from the top down. The neckline is started with an I-Cord knit tube, from which stitches are picked up for the back and front pieces. First, the back piece is worked flat, then the front piece is worked flat. Stitches are cast on for the underarms, and the lower part of the top is knitted in the round downwards. The back piece is worked with more rows to add length to the back, allowing the top to drape nicely. The hem is finished with an I-Cord.
Choose a size that provides approximately 5–15 cm / 2–6”of ease at your bust circumference or the desired amount of ease.

In the fist pic I am wearing a white sample top that is knitted in size L (bust circumference 111 cm / 43.75”) and there is 15 cm / 6” of positive ease for me. The blue sample is knitted in size M (bust circumference 98 cm / 38.5” and there is 2,5 cm /1” of positive ease.

How to work the Top?

First, the back piece is knitted and then the front piece is knitted flat, stitches are cast on for the underarms, and the lower part of the top is knitted in the round downwards. The back piece is worked with more rows to add length to the back, allowing the top to drape nicely. The hem is finished with an I-Cord.

Minimalistisen topin juju ovat pääntien poimut sekä langankierroista syntyvät kädentien reunoja sekä helmaa koristavat reikärivit. Ohut neulos laskeutuu kauniisti. Malli neulotaan ylhäältä alas. Pääntie aloitetaan i-cord-neulostuubilla, josta poimitaan silmukat taka- ja etukappaleelle. Ensin neulotaan tasona takakappale ja sitten etukappale, luodaan kainalosilmukat ja neulotaan topin alaosa pyörönä alas. Takakappaleelle tehdään enemmän kerroksia ja samalla saadaan pituutta taakse, näin toppi asettuu kauniisti. Helma huolitellaan i-cordilla.
