Knit your own Christmas Stockings inspired by the Chunky Knit Stocking from Pottery Barn. PB’s stocking are knit in acrylic yarn, come in cream or white, and have a hefty price tag. You can do it yourself, in any color wool yarn, for less than half the cost.

Your lovely homespun stockings will be knit top down, with a cable detail, short row heel, basic toe, in the yarn and color of your choice.

The finished size of your stocking will be approximately 5.5 inches wide by 18.5 inches long.

1 skein of Brown Sheep Lanaloft Bulky
1 fun button (optional)
US 10, 16” circular needle (OR use your favorite method of knitting in the round, ie DPNs or Magic Loop)
US 10 DPNs
Cable Needle
5 Stitch markers, 1 distinctly different marker to mark the beginning of the round
Tapestry needle

Gauge: 14 stitches and 18 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette
For this project, gauge is not incredibly important.
