Pretty Chilly Hat - Sock Weight

This is the fingering weight version of my Pretty Chilly hat, originally done in sport weight.
These hats usually appear to be too narrow and too long while you are knitting them. The pattern essentially ribs the hat the whole way up, and some of the body ends up resting on top of the head when it’s finished.
The hat is “up-north” style, and should be long enough to cover ears and eyebrows when finished. If you prefer a shorter hat, omit one repeat.
Gauge is not very important due to the stretchiness of the hat.
Special thanks to Drachie for spending the long hours to test this previously unmade version, being the first to take it from paper to finished object, and pointing out several valuable corrections in the testing process.
