This is a simple top-down triangular shawl designed for a knitter to practice simple decreases (k2tog, SSK) and Yarn Overs. This would be ideal for a beginning shawl knitter with some crochet experience required for the optional picot edging.

Size 3 ( 3.25mm) knitting needles straight or circular (I used a 20” circular)
•Size E or F crochet hook (Use the size crochet hook you would use to pick up dropped stitches)
•100 grams of fingering weight yarn; (preferably a large striping sock yarn)
• A Yarn Needle
•Something to cut the yarn

If you want to block your finished project (this makes it bigger and creates a more even finish); I suggest some variation of pins, a mister, and a soft surface to lay the drying shawl for several hours. Putting a fan near your knitting will cause it to dry faster.

If you want a larger shawl I suggest continuing the pattern repeats with another 50 grams of yarn.
