I have been looking for the ‘perfect bootees’ for a long time. I needed a simple pattern with eyelets to add ties. Having used several different patterns I decided to use the best parts of each one and adapt them to suit my needs and came up with these ‘Pretty Simple Bootees’.

To add a stripe, use a contrast colour for 2 rows on Rows 14 and 15 then for 4 rows on Rows 40 to 43. Then I just used a crochet chain with both colours together for 75 stitches using a 4mm/ US size 6 hook.

One 50g ball of yarn can probably make 2 pairs of these booties but there is no actual gauge for them because they can also be made using a thicker yarn and larger needles to make a bigger size.
