Professions Mousefits, Chef, Doctor & Builder
This pattern is for the mouse as well as the chef, doctor and builder removable outfits and accessories. The pattern contains a printable badge for the doctor mouse, and I have included printable templates for a nurse, staff nurse & midwife badge too.
The pattern contains lots of photos to help you every step of the way. It is written in English, using American crochet terms. All of my patterns have been independently tested prior to publication.
You will need:
Yarn of your choice. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your project will simply turn out bigger or smaller! I used aran weight yarn for this project (this is equivalent to light worsted weight yarn) and my finished mouse measures approximately 10cm tall. Please ensure that you use the same weight yarn throughout the entire project.
For the mouse itself (pages 4 - 8) you will need the following colours / quantities:
- Main mouse colour - I used pale grey (approx. 23.5m).
- Nose / ears / feet / tail colour - I used pale pink (approx. 13m).
For the Chef outfit (pages 9-13) you will need the following colours / quantities:
- Red - for the apron & neck tie (approx. 5.5m).
- White - for the jacket & chef’s hat (approx. 22.5m).
- Dark Grey - for the trousers (approx. 10m).
- Light Grey - for the cloche (approx. 9m).
- Dark Yellow - for the cheese (approx. 2m).
For the Doctor outfit (pages 9, 13-18) you will need the following colours / quantities:
- Duck Egg Blue - for the scrubs (top & trousers) & face mask (approx. 20m).
- Black - for the bag (approx. 7.5m).
- Dark Yellow - for the cheese & medical handbook (approx. 5m).
- White - for the lab coat, clog style shoes, medical handbook & face mask (approx. 34m).
- Light grey - for the stethoscope (approx. 3m).
- Dark green - for the medical handbook (approx. 1.5m).
For the Builder outfit (pages 9, 13, 19-22) you will need the following colours / quantities:
- Orange - for the traffic cone (approx. 6m).
- White - for the traffic cone & vest top (approx. 11m).
- Dark Grey - for the mallet head (approx. 2m).
- Beige - for the mallet handle & work boots (approx. 10.5m).
- Blue - for the trousers & mug (approx. 11m).
- Light Yellow - for the high-vis vest (approx. 12m).
- Dark Yellow - for the hard hat & cheese (approx. 6m).
- Light Grey - for the details on the high-vis vest (approx. 1.5m).
Please note = The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide and are based on using aran weight yarn with a 4mm hook. The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for colours of your choice.
You will also need:
- A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook.
- A pair of 6mm black safety eyes.
- Some toy stuffing.
- Some finer black yarn or thread for adding the details to the mouse’s face & chef’s jacket.
- 4 small buttons for the trousers on each outfit & the chef’s jacket (the ones I used were 14mm in diameter) and a needle and thread with which to attach them.
- Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors and some stitch markers.
You are welcome to sell the items that you make using this pattern, but please do not sell / share the pattern itself.
Thank you.
