Rag Bag
MATERIALS:
7-8 yards of fabric - I used ½ yard pieces of about 14-16 different fabrics.
2 large wood/metal rings – 3” diameter
2 Skeins Lily Sugar ‘n Cream 100% cotton, worsted weight yarn – 2.5 oz. skeins in color of your choice
1 leather shoelace – approx. 60” long
2 large wooden beads with hole large enough for leather shoe-
lace to go through
1 Cord Stop with hole large enough for 2 ends of shoelace to
go through 5/8 yd. of lining fabric (optional)
This large colorful bag is great for all those knitting/crocheting projects. It is a wonderful way for a quilter to use some of her fabric stash. Having been a quilter in my former life, I know that a fabric stash can become almost as large as your yarn stash. The body of the bag is crocheted using one-inch fabric strips. Each row begins and ends with a long tail of fabric which is then used to “tie” the sides together. No sewing required unless you line the bag!
