This is a top-down, inside-out,seamless raglan circular sweater, which begins with a modified raglan construction to the middle of the lower back, then stitches are picked up around the yoke and back to create the circle. You can customize the size in two ways; you first select the raglan portion to correspond with your upper chest size, then by knitting more or less rounds in the circular portion you can make it larger or smaller. Sleeves are knit down from the top, so they can be the exact length desired.
After blocking, the silk in the suggested yarn relaxes, making the sweater longer and drapier. It is hugely entertaining to watch the colors change as the circle grows larger, so this is a great use for long-repeat variegated yarns such as Noro Silk Garden.
Techniques utilized in the pattern include increasing, provisional cast-on, picking up stitches, SSK bind off, knitting in the round and knitting flat.
