Inspired by a simple rainbow shape, the Rainbow Variations Square US/UK Crochet pattern includes comprehensive instructions to create your own Rainbow Squares, which can then be joined together to make a blanket, throw or afghan, or a bag, or cushion, or even something wearable… the possibilities are endless. There are instructions to make 3 different rainbow variations. They’re all the same size, so you can mix and match if you want to! A matching plain filler square is also available for free on my website to enable you to mix in too. The blanket shown is made with Rainbow no.1 squares and the plain filler square. This is finished with a simple one colour linen stitch border.

Some experience is needed for this pattern, however the downloadable pdf includes plenty of pictures to guide you, as well as clickable links (if viewed on your phone/pc) to instructional videos on my website for the trickier stitches. Also included is a chart instructions for Rainbow no.1 Square.

Both US and UK crochet terminology is included, and while I recommend Scheepjes Softfun the squares can be made with any yarn, just use the hook size recommended on the ball band.

Size depends on yarn; my sample uses Scheepjes Soften and measures approximately 11cms across.
