I was really frusterated with basket weave patterns that just look like boxes. After much searching and playing with tearing down stitches, I finally finished this pattern, and have make it 4 times.
People love it, especially for baby blankets.

PLEASE NOTE : I use smaller needles for a more refined looking weave, and (as stated in pattern) I knit continental, so used a 3.75mm for the larger gauge differences found with continental knitting.
You can adjust the needle size to your needs, and use an even larger needle for a more relaxed, larger blanket also :-)

I have also given the option of making the border, or just use the stitch for the Realistic Basket Weave Knitting Pattern.
