This sock pattern was designed when I came across a beautiful photo of a Hard Winter Red Wheat Field. The wheat clusters all blow in the wind in unison and the wheat goes on for as far as the eyes can see.
This stitch pattern reminded me of their little wheat “spikes” at the top of the bearded kernels on the top of the stalk. I think few people take notice of the true beauty of a wheat field, but their beauty is a true wonder

The pattern is written for DPNs referring to Needles 1-4. You can accommodate it for Magic Loop or 2 circulars.

NOTIONS: Stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round, A tapestry needle for weaving ends.

PATTERN STYLE: The pattern contains written as well as chart instructions. There is a key and full abbreviation list included as well.

DIFFICULTY: Advanced Beginner: Increases, decreases, and sock construction.

YARN: This pattern is better suited for solid or lightly tonal yarn to show off the detail of the pattern, which may get lost in a heavy variegated yarn.
