Ripple
This pattern is given in two versions. The commercial version (photos two and three) is knit in Camelino and is regular scarf length (72 inches). It’s also shown as a pattern for handspun (photos one and four). That version is shorter, a neckwarmer. Of course it could be knit in commercial yarn. I used sportweight handspun for mine. I also added a “Ripple Rose” pin (photos five and six). You can find that pattern on my etsy store.
Three Waters Farm has a whole new line of subtly dyed merino/bamboo yarns that will look amazing in Ripple. It can be knit on US 8 needles for the long commercial version or on 5s or 6s for the shorter version. Also, I knit a super long 36 rectangle boucle version (photos seven through 10). Mary Ann’s daughter Lilliana fell in love with it and started dancing around in it…see photos. I knit it with a skein of kid mohair silk boucle that Pat Harder of Kit Hollow Farm gave to me at SAFF. When I ran out of yarn around the edging, I finished with a greener TWF colorway of the same yarn.
