A good beginner lace that can be made longer or shorter, according to yarn available, and yet it will keep the interest of a more advanced knitter. Both pattern stitches are zigzag; the first zigzag is longer than the second. The gauge is taken from unblocked stockinette stitch.

The pattern can be increased in width to make a stole instead of scarf; just increase by multiple of 16 sts (the repeat section of pattern.)
