Light and airy, this shawlette is simple yet elegant. Perfect in a lighter weight yarn for a brisk spring evening or a heavier weight yarn for the fall.

Featuring strategically placed yarn overs to replicate falling sakura blossoms from early spring. The shawl body and ruffled edge is separated with a lateral or vikkal braid giving the body a nice shape and the ruffle edge a good base to grow from. The ruffled edge is finished off with a beaded bind off to both add interest and weight to keep the ruffle from curling.

The 9 page pattern features both written and charted instructions. There are also picture tutorials for both the lateral braid and the beaded bind off.

You will need at least 400 yards of fingering weight yarn. However a longer ruffle will require more yardage.

Approx 500 beads will be required for the bind off. They are not prestrung, but added with either a crochet hook or super floss.
