Saltwick Bay is a stylish poncho combining traditional motifs from three gansey locations. At the centre of this cosy poncho, elongated moss and ladders are taken from Scarborough’s simple yoke design. Further up the coast and outwards on the yoke, Robin Hood’s Bay adds a simple 1x1 moss and cable column. The sides are then finished with Whitby’s irrefutable signature, the Betty Martin and cables combination, so named after a well-known local with a reputation for knitting quality ganseys.
