Samantha’s Blanket is a blanket I made for me. I didn’t want to have to knit really long rows to make a king size bed blanket, so I came up with the idea of knitting large pieces that could be sewn together at the end. These are bigger than ‘squares’ and therefore require less sewing up.
I also appreciate that some people may want to make a smaller blanket, and would prefer that to be knit all in one, so I have also included instructions to do that.
This pattern is almost an ebook of blanket designs due to the large variety of ways that the units can be made, put together, or knit all in one.
At the end of the main blanket section I have also given instructions for those who would like to venture into making their own design from the instructions given for the separate unit

This is either a semi-modular blanket with each blanket being made up of a number of ‘units’.
or instructions are also given for working the combinations all in one.

Each Unit is 60 stitches by 120 rows and measures 30x40cm

A single unit can be used as a ‘lovey’
Small blanket is 2x2 (4)units, 60x80cm
Medium: 3x3(9) units, 90x120cm
Large 4x4 (16)units 120x160cm
Larger sizes;
Extra Large, 5x5(25) units 150x200cm
Extra Large 5x6(30) units 150x 240cm
Of course other combinations are possible and units can be put together in any way required.
Each unit requires approx.150m total.
it is an easy blanket to use scraps of yarn for.
Approx. 25m per 1/6th of a unit would be a minimum amount of yarn to use
Total yardage approximations, however, a number of different colours may be used.
4 units = 600m
9 units = 1350m
16 units = 2400m
25 units = 3750m
30 Units = 4500M
Each unit instructions will give the yardage for that unit
