Lo Scirocco (dall’arabo shurhùq, vento di mezzogiorno) è un vento caldo proveniente da Sud-Est divenuto uno dei simboli climatici della Sicilia!
Ed è così che ho deciso di chiamare il mio nuovo scialle “Scirocco” perché l’ispirazione è arrivata proprio durante una giornata in cui il vento soffiava forte e perché voglio che simboleggi la terra dove sono nata e che continua, nonostante tutto, a regalarci profumi e colori che difficilmente potremo trovare altrove!!!
Tecnicamente è uno scialle di notevoli dimensioni ma di facile realizzazione, caratterizzato dall’utilizzo dei ferri accorciati e da un particolare ma semplice punto traforato!!

A1L (M1L) : con la punta del ferro sinistro,
sollevare il filo tra le maglie dal davanti verso il dietro, inserire la punta del ferro destro nell’asola dal dietro e lavorare la maglia così ottenuta.
A1R (M1R) : con la punta del ferro sinistro,
sollevare il filo tra le maglie dal dietro verso il davanti, inserire la punta del ferro destro nell’asola dal davanti e lavorare la maglia così ottenuta.
W&T: (avvolgi e gira, tecnica per ferri accorciati); filo davanti, far scivolare dal f. sx al f dx una m senza lavorarla, passarle dietro il filo, riportare la m sul f sx, girare il lavoro.
X over: incrociare il filo di un colore sopra un altro, dietro il lavoro e poi lavorare la maglia seguente col nuovo colore (metodo Jacquard).

Sirocco ( from the Arabic shurhùq , wind of midday) is a warm wind coming from South - East which has become one of the climatic symbols of Sicily !
And so I decided to call my new shawl “ Scirocco “ because the inspiration came when the wind blew hard and because I wanted to symbolize the land where I was born and that continues , despite everything , to give us smells and colors that we can hardly find anywhere else !!!
Technically it is a very large shawl but it is easy to make. It is characterized by the use of short rows and of a special but simple lace pattern !!
