Sesame Mitts
Like all the mitts in my ebook, CAT’S FAMILY OF FINGERLESS MITTS, these mitts are knit side to side and closed with a 3-needle bind-off. The included 15-minute Tiny Mitt video will make you feel as if I am beside you showing you just what to do from start to finish.
The slip stitch design uses only one color per row, with surprisingly complex results. Two shaded solids (as shown), or one solid and a handpaint for the contrast color, will give you mesmerizing results.
My knitting retreat students and I love knitting Sesame Mitts in endless new color combinations. Once the pattern teaches itself to you, the colors dance in your fingers and it’s hard to stop because you want to watch the design grow. MAke sure to choose colors with enough contrast to display the design. Two 100-gram skeins of yarn will produce 2 pairs of mitts (with colors reversed) and four unique pulse-warmers, like those on the left.
