Say hello to this soft, adorable sheep. It came about because my mother asked me for a favour - make two cute toys for baby twins she was visiting. The only snag was that I only had about two days to do it. I don’t think I’ve ever been so stressed making anything! But I think I did pretty well, considering.

This sheep is incredibly soft and squishy, but this really only works if you have the right yarn for the body. It needs to be something very very fluffy, because only then do the half double crochet stitches not show the filling inside. The toy is made with as few loose pieces as possible since it is intended for a baby, which is why the body and head are made in one piece and the hood is attached.

I hope you enjoy making this! If you have, please post pictures of your creation on the pattern page - I’d love to see it. Happy crocheting!

Variations: You can also make the sheep without legs, to make it more cuddly for a baby. The hood can be attached in various ways, as explained at the end of the pattern in the ‘Assembly’ section. Of course, the mouth and eyes can be arranged however you’d prefer.
